The Folsom City Council held the fifth by-district elections public hearing on March 8. Following public comments and discussions, the City Council adopted “Preferred Map 2” as the final district map and completed the process to transition from an at-large to a by-district system of electing Councilmembers in the future. The City Council determined that members of the City Council from Council Districts 1, 3, and 5 will be elected on a by-district basis beginning with the General Municipal Election in 2022, and members of the City Council from Council Districts 2 and 4 will be elected on a by-district basis beginning with the General Municipal Election in 2024.
