Gallery at 48 Natoma Hosts Public Reception April 22

Post Date:04/26/2022 10:44 a.m.
Hollywood celebrities, famous artists, and political figures are represented through ceramic sculpture by Karen Calden Fulk and digital paintings by Michael Tofanelli in the gallery’s new “Famous Faces” exhibit. The public is invited to the opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22; admission is free.

“The human face and body language are an endless fascination,” says Fulk. Her sculptures use expression and gesture to capture a classic moment of each of her famous subjects. “A good caricature is a shortcut to the truth of a character’s portrait,” says Tofanelli. His stylized celebrity and political caricature illustrations have appeared in countless local and national publications. The exhibit continues through June 30. The adjacent Community Gallery showcases work by members of the El Dorado Hills Arts Association through June 24.
The professional art gallery is located in the 48 Natoma Senior and Art Center; the gallery’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Call 916-461-6601 for more information.
