The Folsom Fire Department and the Folsom Police Department, with assistance from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a structure fire in a residential home located on Tomlinson Drive in Folsom.  Crews responded to a report of a structure fire with an audible alarm coming from a residence with a victim trapped in an upstairs bedroom. Folsom Police officers on scene carried the victim out of the house. Fire crews made search and rescue their highest priority by searching for additional victims while aggressively attacking the fire. Fire personnel extinguished the fire within ten minutes of the first arriving fire engine. The fire was contained to a single room upstairs. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Folsom Fire Department, the Folsom Police Department, and our neighboring agencies strive to work together to provide the best possible service to the community, to save lives and property, and to minimize the impacts of emergencies such as this. This fire is a great reminder that properly maintained smoke alarms save lives!
