Waste and Recycling Route Reviews Continue

Post Date:03/13/2023 2:28 p.m.

Route reviews are random, periodic visual audits of curbside garbage, recycling, and organics cans to encourage residents to recycle right. Over the last two weeks, City of Folsom Waste and Recycling staff have visited more than 300 addresses for route reviews and recognized over 100 households for outstanding recycling practices.

Keep an eye out for recycling team members in your neighborhood through the end of March. If you see team members on your street, please ask them your recycling questions or simply say hello!

Why conduct route reviews? State of California law SB 1383 requires jurisdictions to conduct route reviews. The City of Folsom route reviews are an opportunity to educate the community about recycling and leave real-time, actionable feedback through bin tags. Material will never be removed from the cans, and cans will only be reviewed when they are placed curbside for service. Waste and Recycling staff members will be working in groups or pairs, wearing high-visibility vests and identification badges.

Not sure what to recycle? Download the City of Folsom’s free Waste Collection app by searching ‘waste collection’ in the app store. For more information, visit www.folsom.ca.us/wastecollection.
