Mark Rackovan joined the City of Folsom Public Works Department as an associate civil engineer in 1997. A graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, he has over 30 years of engineering experience in both the public and private sector. Since joining the city, he has contributed to the planning, design and construction of such major transportation projects as the Lake Natoma Crossing, Folsom Lake Crossing, Gold Line Light Rail Extension, East Bidwell Street Interchange and the Capital Southeast Connector.  He managed the traffic operations and maintenance division, has overseen the modernization of Folsom’s traffic signal system and laid the groundwork for the City’s first traffic management center.

Mark is a registered civil engineer, a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the American Public Works Association (APWA). He has been a proud Folsom resident since 2000, where he lives with his wife Linda and enjoys playing strategy games on his computer when his cats aren’t sleeping in his chair.
