Lorraine Poggione has served as the City of Folsom parks & recreation director since 2018. She joined the city in 2002 and served as landscaping and lighting manager, overseeing the city’s 29 Landscaping and Lighting Districts. Lorraine also served as co-chair and then chair for the local organizing committee when Folsom hosted the Amgen Tour of California in 2016 and 2018.

Lorraine manages the operations of the Parks & Recreation Department, including the Steve Miklos Aquatic Center, the Andy Morin Sports Complex, the Folsom Senior and Art Center, and the Zoo Sanctuary; as well as 48 parks, 50 miles of recreational trails, and more than 1,000 acres of open space; and many special events for the community. She also manages current and future park development initiatives and serves as an advisor to the Folsom Parks & Recreation Commission. She oversees the department’s 48 full-time and more than 300 part-time employees with an annual operating budget of $17 million.

Lorraine brings more than 30 years of public and private sector experience to the position. Prior to her tenure at the city, she prepared environmental documents for public infrastructure, school, and commercial development projects for engineering and planning firms. Lorraine holds a Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science in environmental science from San Jose State University.

Lorraine and her husband Todd reside in Folsom and are avid cyclists and walkers. Lorraine also enjoys swimming and indoor cycling classes, and Todd races in mountain bike and cyclocross events. They have five adult children and two grandchildren.
