Professional planning veteran Pam Johns brings more than 27 years of public and private sector experience to the City of Folsom Community Development Department, where she began her career in city government in 1993.

Johns manages the operations of the Community Development Department and oversees planning, development engineering, building safety, arborist, housing, and code enforcement services. She manages current and future development initiatives, and she serves as an advisor to the Folsom Planning Commission.

Johns previously led the planning practice for the west region as an associate vice president at Michael Baker International (previously Pacific Municipal Consultants), a global engineering and planning firm. Johns managed staff, business operations, and client projects throughout California and the western U.S. for Michael Baker International for 16 years.

Johns holds a bachelor’s degree in city and regional planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and studied urban design at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.
