The Folsom Arts & Culture Commission meets every other month on the second Thursday of the odd numbered months at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 50 Natoma Street.

Guidelines Regarding Permanent Artwork in Public Spaces

The Folsom Arts and Culture Commission (FACC) has developed these guidelines to encourage the development of Public Art that reflects community values and Folsom’s historical traditions.

Public Art shall be defined as an original artwork and/or artplace created by an artist, artists, and/or collaboration with design professionals for a public place for the public to experience. Artwork is a tangible creation by an artist. Artplace is defined as a space designed by an artist, working alone or in collaboration with other design professionals, to create a place in which art is integrated into the overall design of the space.

The City of Folsom accepts nominations each year for the Arts Achievement Recognition Awards program. To be eligible, individuals or non-profit organizations must be clearly related to visual, performing, arts education or historic arts; or must be a substantial contributor to stabilize an arts organization, provide arts services to the community, or actively promote the arts. Nominees must be Folsom residents or a Folsom-based business/organization. Nominations for the 2023 awards closed November 9.
