Opening Reception for "Famous Faces" Exhibit

  • Date: 04/22/2022 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Introduction: The Gallery at 48 Natoma hosts a reception for the new exhibit; admission is free and open to the public.

Hollywood celebrities, famous artists, and political figures are represented through ceramic sculpture by Karen Calden Fulk and digital paintings by Michael Tofanelli in the “Famous Faces” exhibit. “The human face and body language are an endless fascination,” says Fulk. Her sculptures use expression and gesture to capture a classic moment of each of her famous subjects. “A good caricature is a shortcut to the truth of a character’s portrait,” says Tofanelli. His stylized celebrity and political caricature illustrations have appeared in countless local and national publications. The "Famous Faces" exhibit continues through June 30. The adjacent Community Gallery showcases work by members of the El Dorado Hills Arts Association through June 24.

The public is invited to the free opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22. The reception includes light refreshments and live music.

The professional art gallery is located in the 48 Natoma Senior and Art Center; the gallery’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Call 916-461-6601 for more information.
