As a part of the Folsom Municipal Code (FMC), the Zoning Code sets the rules for existing and new development in the city. It shapes the location, type, and design of buildings and land in Folsom. It also helps protect the environment and guard against potential use conflicts.

However, the Zoning Code has not been updated in decades. The new Zoning Code will be easier to use with clear language, diagrams, and other graphics that explain the regulations. The goal is to create clear expectations for quality development and make those expectations easy to understand and follow. Please get involved and help us craft a new Zoning Code that meets Folsom's needs.
