F.A.S.T.I.R. Program

The Folsom Accelerated Small Tenant Improvement Review (F.A.S.T.I.R.) process allows small interior commercial remodels the opportunity for a cursory review prior to submitting documents and potential pre-application meeting with City Staff to ensure an expedited review process.  The Program was created to assist small business owners with the opportunity to avoid delays by understanding the process and requirements prior to submitting.

Projects that qualify for the F.A.S.T.I.R Program must meet the below requirements:

• Proposed Occupancy of the space is a B or M
• No exterior work is being proposed
• Scope does not include any items outlined in the Statement of Intended Use Form (i.e. additional Fire review)
• Food preparation is considered minor in scope and does not include a Type 1 Hood
• Scope of work is for 3,000 sq. ft. or less

To inquire about the F.A.S.T.I.R. Program, please contact Allison Konwinski at akonwinski@folsom.ca.us.  Typically, a preliminary set of plans showing the scope of work will be required prior to qualification of a F.A.S.T.I.R.

Please note, Fire Sprinklers and Fire Alarms are submitted separately and will not be reviewed under the F.A.S.T.I.R.

Additionally, outside Agency Review is typically required for F.A.S.T.I.R.s and approval is required prior to permit approval.  Please visit the Plan Check Website and click on “Additional Agency Review Information” to see which outside agency reviews may be required.
