New Organics Recycling Law 

California law SB1383 requires all businesses and commercial properties to separate organic waste from their garbage and recycling. The new requirements take effect on January 1, 2022 for all Folsom businesses. The city will provide Green Bins to all businesses not currently recycling organics through another hauler, please contact us to schedule your bin delivery. Properties that have not initiated organics recycling service will be notified about a bin drop.

Starting March 2022, multifamily dwellings (MFD) or apartments that are 5 units or more will begin the organics recycling pilot program in the City of Folsom as set forth in SB1383. 

The Waste and Recycling Division provides collection of business and multifamily trash and recyclables up to seven days per week. Collection is provided in dumpsters ranging from three cubic yards to 40 cubic yards.
