Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will begin work this month to upgrade approximately 12.5 miles of electric transmission line between Folsom and Shingle Springs. The work will be conducted by PG&E contract crews and will take place in phases along the line through early summer of 2018.

The Missouri Flat Gold Hill transmission line connects the Gold Hill Substation in the City of Folsom, the Clarksville Substation in El Dorado Hills and the Shingle Springs Substation in Shingle Springs. This upgrade work will help to meet increasing electric load demands and replace aging infrastructure in El Dorado County.

Work will be performed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional work on Saturday and Sunday as necessary. In some areas, work will start as early as 6 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. The construction schedule is dependent on safe weather conditions.

Customers nearby the work will receive notification about the work and will be notified should an outage be necessary to complete the upgrades. In some cases, 'No Parking' signs may be posted and traffic may be re-routed around the construction crew work areas.
