Oak Parkway Trail Undercrossing

Post Date:09/24/2018

Construction begins the week of October 1 for the new bike/pedestrian undercrossing that will connect the Oak Parkway Trail to the Johnny Cash Trail. Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the work zone on Natoma Street between Fargo Way and Prison Road.

Work to connect the Oak Parkway Trail to the Johnny Cash Trail near East Natoma Street and Prison Road begins the week of October 1. This project will create a tunnel directly under East Natoma Street and provide a seamless and safe route for trail users to transition between the two trails.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution during the first phase of this project as traffic on East Natoma Street will be shifted with a reduced speed limit of 25 mph between Fargo Way and Prison Road. For the duration of the project, no left turn onto Fargo Way will be available for westbound traffic on East Natoma Street.

The Oak Parkway Trail undercrossing is scheduled to open for public use in spring 2019. For more information about the project, contact City of Folsom Trails Planner Jim Konopka at jkonopka@folsom.ca.us.
