The Folsom Fire Department, El Dorado Hills Fire District, and the Folsom Police Department responded to a residential structure fire yesterday evening. A total of four engine companies, two truck companies, two paramedic ambulances, and two chief officers worked together to mitigate the incident. Firefighters from Engine 39 arrived to find a vehicle on fire in a garage. Heat and smoke made access difficult. Firefighters forced entry to the garage and living space while employing positive pressure ventilation. They placed fire attack hose lines into position while preventing damage to the living space. Fire personnel extinguished the fire within 7 minutes of the first arriving fire engine. The fire was contained to the vehicle with moderate damage to the garage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
