Californians are now required to wear face coverings or masks in public spaces under a mandate announced by the California Governor.
Face coverings are required at all indoor City of Folsom facilities.
Under the new statewide order, face coverings or masks are required while:
- Inside of, or in line to enter, any indoor public space.
- Obtaining healthcare services.
- Waiting for or riding public transportation, including ride-sharing and taxis.
- In the workplace where social distancing cannot be maintained, in public spaces, any space where food is prepared, or in common areas.
- While outdoors when maintaining social distancing is not possible.
According to the California Department of Public Health, a growing body of scientific research has shown that people with no or few symptoms of COVID-19 can still spread the disease and that the use of face coverings, combined with physical distancing and frequent hand washing, will reduce the spread of COVID-19.
