On October 13, Sacramento County released an amended Public Health Order that includes updates for schools and personal gatherings.

Schools:

  • Sacramento County has met the state criteria for all school grade levels to conduct in-person instruction.
  • Schools no longer need a granted waiver and do not require a waiver application as long as they meet the required mitigation measures (social distancing, face coverings, and sanitization).

Gatherings:

Sacramento County Public Health continues to discourage social gatherings of non-household members. The following guidance is to reflect California Department of Public Health changes.

  • Gatherings should consist of no more than members from three different households.
  • Gatherings should only take place outdoors and be limited to a maximum of two hours.
  • Do not gather if you feel sick or are in a high risk category.
  • Account for those in attendance for contact tracing if needed.
  • Anyone who develops COVID-19 within 48 hours of a gathering should notify other attendees to get tested.
  • Practice social distancing measures (6-foot distancing, good hand hygiene, wear face coverings properly).
  • Limit activities that cause respiratory droplets to increase and be released into the air.
