Officers and Kids

In partnership with the Folsom-Cordova Unified School District, the Folsom Police Department has three School Resource Officers (SROs) assigned to Folsom schools. There is currently one SRO located at Folsom High School and one SRO located at Vista del Lago High School. The third SRO splits their time between Folsom Lake High School and the two middle schools.

SROs handle more than just criminal matters on school campuses or police issues involving youth in the community.

  • SROs develop educational and mentoring relationships with students and serve as a resource for school administrators, teachers, and parents.
  • SROs create and administer after-school programs, including fitness programs aimed at developing leadership, respect, courage, and discipline while enhancing self-esteem and decreasing bullying. These programs include the Fighting for Fitness program at Folsom middle and high schools and the newly established Building Bridges CrossFit for Kids.
